Hailing from the welsh capital Cardiff, I have been fortunate to carry out many of my “bucket lists” in recent years. Swimming with Whale Sharks, Fishing the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, trekking through rainforest and sailing round the Caribbean to name just a few. South East Asia has probably left its greatest impression.
The culture and people I have found to be some of the kindest, most humble people I have every come across. The food is also out of this world. Although like most areas tourism has taken centre stage, there are many still untouched areas of beauty, particularly in North Thailand and the Philippines. For the last few years my wife and I have travelled to this part of the world, and likely will continue so. A rich man should not be measured by the amount of money he has, no wiser words can be emphasised than those spoken by the late great Bob Marley.
“Riches and success come from family, good friends, and being kind to others”.
In addition to travelling and writing I am also a keen film buff and like nothing more than to chill out on a Sunday evening and watch a movie. If I was to choose my specialist subject in a quiz, it most definitely would be about film.
Nature has also been a keen interest of mine, and along the way I have acquired five dogs, including a French bulldog and a selection of pugs. To say the household is crazy is to put it mildly. The best nature I have seen is without a doubt in Alaska. The scenery is spectacular, bears, moose, Caribou, salmon, everywhere.
Well that’s a little about me. I hope you enjoy the rest of my blog as I continue to update it. And as another great person once said
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of other”.
